It’s February–the month of love. A month when we’re tuned in to heart energy. But a month we tend to turn that awareness to romantic relationships.

What if we turned that heightened awareness into our own hearts? To hear its calls? Cries? Dreams? Desires?

So often in today’s world, in the rush of survival and the possession of success, we are prodded to move fast and think later.

We are not encouraged to slow. To silence. To feel into what it is we are yearning for deep in our hearts. So we make our to do lists and check off that next thing. Forever pouring our energy into tomorrow. All while missing today.

My Personal Journey

I’ve been in a state of deep self observation, of reevaluating everything in and about my life. I’ve been looking at where my energy is going and where I want it to go. And I’m recognizing that I’ve been living a life that is dictated by my outside world instead of creating a life based on my internal landscape.

And I’m changing that. I don’t yet know what it looks like, but I’m deconstructing my life as it is.

So what do you say? Are you missing your own heart? Do you want to look deep inside. Let’s explore the space of the heart. Let’s rediscover your dreams? Do you want to?

Follow These Steps To Hear Your Own Heart

Close your eyes and take a deep breath.

Breathe in to your heart. Fill it up.

On the exhale, release anything you’re carrying in your heart that’s old or doesn’t belong, that’s not yours.

Don’t rush it. Be there with your breath and your heart and your release as long as you need.

When you feel clear, close your eyes and guide your energy down to your heart.

Ask yourself this question, “If I could do anything, live any kind of life, and money nor my current responsibilities mattered, what would I do? What would my life look like? Where would I be?”

And just be with that question.

Allow your dreams to bubble up. See, feel, sense yourself in that life. Allow it to be wild, crazy, nonsense. Don’t judge it. Don’t stop it. Feel the excitement of it, the happiness, the fulfillment, perhaps even the fear.

Thank your heart. Yourself.

Breathe in and out. Slowly. Allow yourself to be with the dream as long as you need to.

When you’re ready, start to understand, uncover, talk to friends and family and loved ones about how you might take steps to making some or all of that dream a reality. What’s in the dream that is tangible? Possible? Doable?
